Mangaluru, Aug. 4: Young Students’ Movement (YCS/YSM) Mangalore Diocese marked the significance of communal harmony by organising an inter-religious summit ‘Bandhutva-2019’ on Saturday, 3 August 2019.
The true essence of peace and harmony was tasted by the students of various educational institutions at this program held at the Golden Jublie Memorial Church Hall, Valencia.
The program began on a devotional note with a prayer song sung by the students followed by a warm welcome dance. The Bishop of Manglore Diocese Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, President of the program along with the chief guests Ms Brahmakumai Vishweshwari, Centre in charge of Brahmakumaris Mangaluru And Mr Rafiuddin Kudroli, Khateeb Nimrah Masjid, Mukkecheri Ullal, President UNIWEF Karnataka, Founder MDC Mangaluru inaugurated by lighting the lamp. YSM Diocean President Rovita Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr Rupesh Madtha, Diocesan Director of YSM Mangaluru explained the significance of ‘Bandhutva-2019’. The guests of honor Ms Brahmakumai Vishweshwari and Mr Rafiuddin Kudroli, gave out their amazing messages on spirituality and the significance of communal harmony. Later, Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha delivered the presidential address.
The program patrons Rev Fr James Dsouza Parish priest of Valencia Church, Mr Renzil Dsouza Permannur and Medeline School Mulky were honoured for their generous contribution. Ms Vinisha Dsouza Delivered vote of thanks.
The formal program was followed by cultural program where students from different schools performed on the theme of ‘Bandhutva’. A short movie ‘ My Choice My Peace’ by Fr Nelson Almeida depicting the theme was screened. Program concluded with delicious lunch. A total of 600 students participated in this event. Diocesan YCS Animator Mr Prajwal Sequeira Derebail, Diocesan YCS Cordinator Mr Mervin J Vas Ferar, YSM Mangaluru Chief Animator Mrs Sunitha Crasta, YSM Secretary Mr Ayush Roa, council members Joswita, Hemanth, Deeksha, Ashvia, Deona, Einstein, Nevil and Rishanth were present.
