April 3, 2016 : The feast of Divine Mercy was celebrated with great gusto here at Alangar. Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore celebrated the mass and called everyone to be the face of God’s mercy, just as the risen Lord. He later declared this holy place, i.e. the Shrine of Infant Jesus as a place of pilgrimage for all the faithful who seek God’s mercy this year. Thereby declaring that a faithful who repents and goes for confession, and professes the creed and takes part in the mass will gain indulgences – pardon from all sins and its consequences in this year of Mercy.
He also blessed the renovated cemetery and pray for all the faithful departed. Frs Basil Vas and Kenneth Crasta along with the Parish council members and the Team of Divine Mercy organized this feast. All the faithful were provided with breakfast at the end of the festal mass and blessing of the cemetery.
