June 1 : On 31st May 2019, The Canara Organization for Development & Peace® welcomed its new Director Designate Rev. Fr Vincent DSouza, at an informal programme organized for the purpose. Fr Vincent was accompanied by his Successor Fr Victor DSouza, Fr Paul Sebastian, Asst Parish Priest; Mr Prasanna Fernandes, Vice President-PPC; Religious Sisters and other parishioners of Sullia parish.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by CODP staff.
Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP welcomed Fr Vincent DSouza, and other dignitaries on the stage. He extended a warm welcome also to the Sisters, parishioners and Staff of CODP. He then spoke briefly about CODP – its origin, Units, projects and programme activities, etc. Before concluding his brief address he thanked everyone, especially those who had come all the way from Sullia to escort Fr Vincent to CODP.
Thereafter, Fr Victor DSouza, Parish Priest of Sullia, thanked Fr Vincent and also wished him well in his new ministry as the Director Designate of the Diocesan socio-developmental organization, viz. CODP.
Accepting his new ministry, Fr Vincent DSouza first expressed sentiments of gratitude to the people of Sullia who had supported him during his tenure as Parish Priest. He acknowledged that his responsibilities at CODP would definitely be a challenge but hoped that with the support of its present Director Fr Oswald and the Staff, he would be able to do full justice to the confidence reposed on him. He once again thanked one and all for the cordial welcome.
The programme ended with tea and refreshments to the guests. In all, 60 members were present. The programme was compeered by Mrs Zeena Concessao of CODP.
