MANGALURU SEPT 2: The Catholic Board of Education (CBE), Mangalore, organized its 37th Teachers’ Day Celebration and Felicitation Ceremony with solemnity and grand event proceedings on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Shanthi Kiran Hall in Bajjodi, Nanthoor. The gathering brought together management officials, heads of institutions, retired educators, and meritorious students from across the diocese.
Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of the Diocese of Mangalore and President of the CBE, presided over the programme. Shri Shashidhar G.S., K.E.S., Deputy Director (Administration), Department of School Education, Dakshina Kannada District, attended as the Chief Guest.
Presidential & Chief Guest Addresses
In his presidential address, Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in shaping a student’s life. He emphasized that the guidance and lessons imparted by educators remain valuable forever, serving as a lifelong compass. Encouraging students to respect their teachers, he noted that accepting constructive correction and discipline is essential for personal development and moral clarity. The Bishop also urged educators to foster environments that help students observe, learn from their experiences, and think critically. He concluded by commending the teaching fraternity for their unwavering support and urged students to carry these invaluable lessons into their future endeavours.
Addressing the gathering with a proud nod to the region, “Amchi Dakshina Kannada” (Our Dakshina Kannada), Chief Guest Shri Shashidhar G.S. lauded the collective efforts of the district’s educators. He highlighted the significant improvement in the district’s academic performance, noting that the student failure rate, which was once in the four digits, was successfully reduced to three digits last year. “This year, our collective aim is to bring it down to just two digits,” he stated. He emphasized that hard work is ultimately more important than success itself, reminding the audience that once success is achieved, it must be continuously pursued and maintained. Shri Shashidhar congratulated the Headmasters and Headmistresses, attributing the excellent district-level results to their strong willpower and dedicated leadership in their respective schools.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು AUG 2: ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕಥೊಲಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ (CBE) ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಬುಧವಾರ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2, 2026 ರಂದು ನಂತೂರಿನ ಬಜ್ಜೋಡಿಯ ಶಾಂತಿಕಿರಣ ಸಭಾಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ 37ನೇ ‘ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ’ವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಧರ್ಮಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಶಾಲಾ-ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು (ಬಿಷಪ್) ಹಾಗೂ ಕಥೊಲಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಪರಮಪೂಜ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಪೀಟರ್ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ (ಆಡಳಿತ) ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಶಿಧರ್ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್., ಕೆ.ಇ.ಎಸ್. ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ಭಾಷಣ
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಮಪೂಜ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಪೀಟರ್ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ಅವರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಠಗಳು ಜೀವನದುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ದಾರಿದೀಪವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ತಿದ್ದುವಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಸ್ತನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಬೇಕು, ಇದು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ವಿಕಸನಕ್ಕೆ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ ಎಂದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸುವ, ಅನುಭವಗಳಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಮರ್ಶಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸುವ (critical thinking) ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಪೂರಕ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
“ಆಮ್ಚಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ” (ನಮ್ಮ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ) ಎಂದು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಶಿಧರ್ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್., ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿನ ಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು. “ಹಿಂದೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಅಂಕಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಅನುತ್ತೀರ್ಣ (ಫೇಲ್) ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಮೂರು ಅಂಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಎರಡು ಅಂಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗಿಂತ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಅವರು, “ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಅದನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಕಿವಿಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದ ಶಾಲಾ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರ ಇಚ್ಛಾಶಕ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮರ್ಪಣಾ ಭಾವವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು.
ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ನಮನ
ದಶಕಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಸುಮಾರು 25 ಬೋಧಕ ಮತ್ತು 16 ಬೋಧಕೇತರ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಿವೃತ್ತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪುಷ್ಪಾವತಿ ಎ. (ಮುಖ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ, ಸೈಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಹಿ.ಪ್ರಾ. ಶಾಲೆ, ಕಣಿಯೂರು) ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಎವರೆಸ್ಟ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ (ಮುಖ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು, ಕಾಸಿಯಾ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು) ತಮ್ಮ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಕಥೊಲಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ನಿರಂತರ ಬೆಂಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಬಿಜೈ ಲೂರ್ಡ್ಸ್ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಗಾಯನ ತಂಡವು ವಿದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಶ್ರಾವ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡಿ ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ನಮನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

- ವಿಶೇಷ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಲೂಕು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತರು: 2025–26ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯಮಟ್ಟದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರಾದ ನಂತೂರು ಪದವು ಕೆಲ್ಪರಿ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಹಿ.ಪ್ರಾ. ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಐರಿನ್ ಲೀನಾ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ಹಾಗೂ 2025ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ತಾಲೂಕು ಮಟ್ಟದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರಾದ ಮೊಡಂಕಾಪು ಇನ್ಫೆಂಟ್ ಜೀಸಸ್ ಹಿ.ಪ್ರಾ. ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ತೆರೆಸಾ ಎಲ್. ಡಿಮೆಲ್ಲೊ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
- 100% ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಪಡೆದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು: 2025-2026ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ಎಲ್ಸಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ. 100ರಷ್ಟು ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ 36 ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ. 100 ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಪಡೆದ ನಾರಾವಿಯ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಆಂಟನಿ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಜೈ ಲೂರ್ಡ್ಸ್ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪುರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
- ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು: ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಶಾಲಾ-ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ಎಲ್ಸಿ, ಪಿಯುಸಿ, ಪದವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕ ಹಾಗೂ ರ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಗಳಿಸಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ನಗದು ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಂಶಗಳು
ಪೆರ್ಮನ್ನೂರಿನ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಸೆಬಾಸ್ಟಿಯನ್ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ನೃತ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಕಥೊಲಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಲಿಯೋ ಲಸ್ರಾದೊ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಸುರತ್ಕಲ್ನ ಹೋಲಿ ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯೋಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರಾದ ವಂ. ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಅವರು ಅಗಲಿದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾಂಜಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ನಾರಾವಿ ಪಿಯು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಸಲ್ಡಾನ್ಹಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಲೂರ್ಡ್ಸ್ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ವಂ. ಜಾನ್ಸನ್ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆಗೈದರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗೀತೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ಶಾಂತಿಕಿರಣದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ವಂ. ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರೊಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಸಹಭೋಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಚನ ನೀಡಿದರು.
