Nov 4 : CODP® in collaboration with Jnanodaya, Mangaluru and Mount Rosary – Alangar, Moodbidri organized a Free De-addiction Residential Camp from 10th to 13th October 2018 at Mount Rosary – Alangar Moodbidri Hall. On this occasion, Sr. Precilla D Mello, the Superior General of Helpers of Mount Rosary and Fr. Mark Valder and Mr. Mark D Souza the convener of Jannodaya Animator were present for the inauguration programme on October 10th and motivated the participants. Mr. Mark gave awareness and advice to all the participants. He also gave some key ways to control alcohol addiction.
On October 12th, Fr. Rocky D Souza and Fr. Elias D Souza, did the counseling for the participants and also heard the confessions.
During the Valedictory programme on October 13th, CODP Director, Fr. Oswald Monteiro, Msgr. Edwin Pinto and Sr. Precilla D Mello were honorable guest on the stage.
Fr. Oswald Monteiro, in his speech said that CODP is committed to the cause of poor, downtrodden and neglected. He motivated participants to live a life of dignity in the society. He appealed the addicts to live a new life. Therefore he told them to take the help of AAA members and to attend their meetings regularly.
The participants learned some ways to overcome the problems of alcoholism and how to overcome it. They also learned skills to live in harmony in the family.
Mr. Mark D Souza proposed vote of thanks and thanked the partners. There were 24 participants who were present for the programme.
