Rosary Exhibition, an unique attraction of Mangalore

Nov 09, 2017: In the preparation of the Year of Rosary, an unique exhibition of rosaries organized by Our Lady of Rosary Church, Mangalore, at Rosario Cathedral hall from 9th to 12th November which was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the Bishop of Mangalore on 9th November at Rosario Cathedral hall by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp to the portrait of Our Lady of Rosary.

 

Msngr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore, Mr. J. R. Lobo, MLA Mangalore South, Mr. Pius Rodrigues, Fr. J. B. Crasta, the Parish Priest, Mr M P Noronha Secretary Diocesan Pastoral Parished, Mr. Sabu and many priests, sisters leaders of the society and faithful witnessed the inauguration.

In his inaugural address, Bishop highlighted the importance of Rosary, appreciated Fr. J. B. Crasta for the Rosary exhibition and congratulated Mr. Sabu for his personal achievements of collecting more than 50000 thousand rosaries as hobby and for organizing 124 exhibitions of Rosaries in different places.

 

In his chief guest address, Mr. J. R. Lobo said, “Praying Rosary is more important than possessing a Rosary, wearing a Rosary in the neck, placing Rosary in our vehicles. The Rosary is an instrument which helps us to recite Rosary. Rosary prayer can strengthen our community. So make it a point to pray Rosary every day in the family.”

On this occasion the kannada movie on St John De Britto produced by Fr Stany Montheiro of Bambil Parish was released by the Bishop.

This unique exhibition will be opened for the public from 9 to 12 November, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Rosario Cathedral hall, Mangalore. The exhibition consists of 50000 rosaries, rosaries used by saints, rosaries of gold, diamond etc.
