St. Monica Feast Celebration at Kileo Church, Kifaru, Tanzania

Sep 2 : On Sunday 1st of September 2019, the parishioners of Kileo Parish celebrated the feast of parish patron St. Monica. Day began with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Germin William Longio, Director St. Augustine University Arusha. Mission superior Rev. Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza and School headmaster, Kileo parish in charge priest Rev. Fr. Victor Machado were the concelebrants. During the homily Fr. Germin explained about the life of St. Monica and also he spoke about the simplicity and obedience in the life. During the homily he addressed the Italian guests in Italian language. Day’s liturgy was organized by the Kileo parishioners and Kifaru Parish choir conducted the melodious choir.

After the Holy Eucharist during the formal function, parish Secretary Mrs. Protacia Tarimu welcomed the guests and Holy Childhood children welcomed them with garland. Fr. Alwyn and Fr. Germin congratulated the parishioners for the beautiful feast celebration and thanked Fr. Victor and parish leaders for the efforts to arrange the celebration. Parish children, Youth and women group members presented the cultural program. During this occasion parishioners felicitated the Italian Guests, while thanking everyone for the support, Fr. Victor concluded the formal function.

After the formal function Rev. Fr. George Crasta organized various games for the parishioners. From children to elders, all who gathered participated in different games; after the games Italian guests distributed the prizes to the winners and sweets to the children. Mrs. Leonarda Laghua prayed over the meals followed by sumptuous meals were distributed to all.
