YET Advance Program inaugurated at CODP

Aug 23, 2016: The inauguration of YET – Advance programme for PUC students for the year 2016-17 was held on 21st August 2016 at CODP. The orientation programme began at 10.00 am with a Prayer by students. Mrs. Venisha welcomed dignitaries on the dais.

The Director of CODP, Rev. Fr. Oswald in his introductory speech welcomed the participant’s chief guest Mr. Cyprian Monteiro and Fr. Vernon Vaz. After that he asked the students to introduce themselves. Then he explained the objective of Career Advancement programme (CAP)which is to “motivate and guide our youth to go for higher education and get into Government jobs”. He mentioned that already three batches have attended theYET basic programme. He also said that there are many CAP activities conducted by CODP and YET is one of them. He wished many of our youth would reach the goal of CAP i.edecorate the government jobs.

The resource person Mr. Cyprian Monteiro in his speech motivated the students to take up government jobs. He said that there are so many vacancies in variousGovernment departments/offices, but the Christian community youth do not take advantage of these available opportunities. Then he also guided the students to read the different types of general knowledge booksi.eSpardhaSpoorthi, CompetitiveReview Success Manorama year book which help usto write the competitive exams. Then he explained to the students how to apply for the government jobs and gave them the websites.

After the inauguration of the YET Advancetraining, the classes were held for the students. Sr. Sylvette A.C took up the geography subject on the topic:Universe and the solar system. Mr. Stephan Quadros taught History on the topic: the Stone Age and Indus Valley Civilization.

After the lunch break Rev. Fr. AlwynSerrao taught about Currentaffairs and Mr. Patrick Braggs took GMAT class.

On this day altogether a total 30 students attended the YET training programme.
