HISTORY :
Neermarga church is carved out of Omzoor parish. Owing to the hardships faced by the parishioners of 5 wards near Neermarga of the Holy Family church, Omzoor, Fr F.A. Rodrigues, the parish priest of Omzoor, built a chapel and a presbytery at Neermarga. It was constituted into an independent parish on May 1, 1968 and Fr M.F. D’Souza, then assistant priest of Omzoor, was named as the first parish priest of Neermarga on May 1, 1968. He completed the construction work of the church. The church was inaugurated on May 1, 1969.

This church is situated at a distance of 10 kms from Mangalore to the north-east, and is surrounded by Omzoor, Kulshekar and Kelarai parishes.
