Ukkinadka Parish is situated at a distance of 62 km from Mangalore and 29 km from Kasargod. It is on the Kalladka –Cherkala State Highway and away from perla town. The land is full of hard laterite soil. It may be due to this quality of land the place must have been given the name of Ukkinadka. In Kannada ukku means iron. Earlier Ukkinadka parish was called Perdala. The parish is dedicated to Sacred Heart of
Jesus. Three villages of Kasaragod Taluk viz Badiadka, Enmakaje and Kumbdaje come under ukkinadka pairsh. Till 1939 Ukkinadka was a part of Bela parish, its church being 16 km away from Ukkinadka. On May 7th 1939 it became an independent parish. Fr Denis R. Louis was the first parish priest. Later Fr ambrose
Aranha (1945-51), Fr Casmir J. Mathias (1951-57), Fr Robert Goveas (1957-64), Fr. Anthony D’Souza (1964-70), Fr Alexader Sequeria (1970-75), Fr Remegius Aranha (1975-80), fr marian Pinto (1980- 81), Fr Peter Fernandes (1981-88), Fr Richard lasrado (1988-93), Fr Pascal Menezes (1993-2000), Fr Vincent D’Souza (2000-2003), Fr Canute Barboza (2003-2010), and Fr Peter Fernandes (2010-2011) served the parish. In 1988 the Maniampare chapel was erected. In 2008 a shall was built.
On June 25th 2011 the Pallottine Priests were entrusted with the charter of the Ukkinadka parish and Fr. Stani slaus was  appointed parish priest. On the same day the Maniampare chapel was made independent and Fr. Peter Fernandes was given the charge of the chapel. Later sill on December 1st it was declared a parish and Fr Peter Fernandes was appointed now the first parish. It was he who built  the Maniampare Chapel in the year 1988. At present Maniamare parish has 80 families.
The Ukkinadka parish too has 60 families with the population of 350. May 17, 2014 it will celebrate its platinum Jubilee. As a mark of this event the process is on to build a new presbytery.
