HISTORY :

The Pavur Mission owes its humble beginnings to Fr. Alexander Camisa, SJ, who dedicated his life to the care and upliftment of the marginalized Koraga community. Following his internment during World War I, the Diocese of Mangalore assumed responsibility for the mission, sustaining the faith and well-being of the converts who remained.

A transformative chapter began when the mission was entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco. Arriving with a bold vision, a small pioneer team of a priest and two brothers undertook the monumental task of total, integral empowerment. Working hand-in-hand with the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel, they focused heavily on quality education, healthcare, and socio-economic development.

Through their tireless efforts and single-minded dedication, what once seemed an impossible challenge has borne miraculous fruit. Today, Pavur Mission stands as a glowing testament to Gospel love in action, breaking generations of marginalization and offering a bright, hope-filled future to its faith community.
