This church is carved from Siddakatte, Agrar and Nirkan parishes.  Fr Peter Serrao purchased 4 acres of land in 1990 and constructed the church building which was inaugurated as the parish church on  May 22, 1992.  Since the presbytery was not constructed, the first parish priest, Fr Richard Saldanha resided in a room.  He built the presbytery, which was inaugurated on July 25, 1995.

Fr Ronald Miranda, the parochial administrator constructed the Infant Jesus Grotto and the Decennial  Memorial Hall, which was inaugurated on  February 23, 2002.

Fr Aloysius John D’Silva of Siddakatte received 2 acres of land from the state government and began a school in 1927.  This school was handed over in June 1993 to Vamadapadav after it became a parish.  Presently this school is known as St Bartholomeow Higher Primary School, and has 4 acres of land of its own.
